Schloss Hof Castle
The castle is located in Austria only a few kilometers from Slovak borders, opposite Devínska Nová Ves as the crow flies. A beautiful complex consisting of a residential princely palace, artistically designed terrace gardens and an idyllic manor was built by the end of 1720s as a representative country and hunting seat of Prince Eugene of Savoy. The castle is open to the public; on the area of more than fifty hectares, its visitors are offered a true touristic and culinary experience.

Project PALTOUR
The PALTOUR project has been implemented within the Programme of Transboundary Cooperation between the Slovak Republic and Austria for the period from 2007 to 2013 and co-financed from the ERDF. The project partners - the city of Malacky and the city of Marchegg share the history of the house of Pálffy - a fact proved by the mansions in the Pálffy style in both the cities. The purpose of the project is to connect the Lower Záhorie and the Lower Austria by means of the so-called Pálffy tourism.Schloss Hof
The grounds of Hof Palace extend over more than 50 hectares of land in eastern Lower Austria. The magnificent ensemble with its lordly palace, beautiful Terraced Garden and idyllic Manor Farm was laid out in the late 1720s as an impressive country home and hunting lodge for Prince Eugene of Savoy. The architect, Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt, was able to draw on practically unlimited resources. His employer, after all, was not only one of the most successful generals but also one of the wealthiest men of his time.Project Partners
