Pernek lies under the Little Carpathians on the southeast from Malacky. The route from Malacky to Pezinok via the mountain pass Baba runs through the village together with the road from Bratislava in direction to Senica. The first written reference to this village dates back to 1394. In the hills above the village mining activities were focused on metallic minerals mining. The Church of the Holy Spirit traces back to 17th century. On the crest of the Little Carpathians, partly in the village registry there is a ski resort Baba. It is a popular resort for winter leisure activities for people from nearby towns and villages and Bratislava. The car race up the hill takes place here every year, it is a popular attraction for inhabitants of the Bratislava district. Behind the village a cottage area is located. The Little Carpathian Cycle Route passes through the village. Nearby area of the Little Carpathians provides good possibilities for hiking.
