Jakubov

It is situated on the west of Záhorská plain surrounded by woods and plenty of water areas, and covers the area of 2086 ha. Currently, the village has 1,550 inhabitants. Natural conditions provide sufficient opportunities for tourism and recreation. The surface of the land area consists of sands and alluvial plains. The creek Malina and Záhorie channel (Centuz) go across the village. The Roman Catholic Church dedicated to Apostles St. Philip and St. Jacob is dominant of the village. It was built from 1641 to 1644. Baroque building was later extended by the presbytery, which is externally reinforced with two-stage pillars. Pulpit from the second half of the 18th century is from the baroque period. The internal furnishing of the church is from the year 1903. The statue of the Madonna with child, which is a historical monument, is situated next to the church. The first written mention dates from 1460, under its original name Jacabfalva. At the end of the village direction Záhorská Ves, there is the chapel of the Virgin Mary. The recreation and cottage area Feld, a village by the gravel is on the edge of the village. Jakubov ponds are well – known, there live a lot of mud birds, ponds are a protected nesting area. On the south of Jakubov there is a beautiful pine forest, sometimes even oak, locust and alder grow there. Fishing is also possible on the two gravels near the village.

is a private institution that provides social services to its clients in a rehabilitation center and employment in a sheltered workshop. Our target group is young people with intellectual and multiple disabilities, older than 18 years.

o.z. Citrónky, is a voluntary organization merging parents, children, relatives, specialists and citizens in order to help children and young people to use free time well. Its address is in Jakubov n.415, 900 63 Jakubov. It operates in the Malacky region.

Hunting Association:
One of the oldest in the country, its origins dating back to 1871. Jakubov hunting association was awarded by the Central Council of the Slovak Hunting Union and the Medal of Saint Hubert.

There is also active fishing association Malina and TJ Zahorany Jakubov.

Events:
Each year the village organizes, especially for children "farewell to summer“, where children compete in various disciplines, they are rewarded with prizes, candies and various attractions like jumping castle, trampoline, slide, ride horses, face painting, bonfire , live music, refreshments are prepared for them. This event usually takes place at the end of August and the beginning of September, the exact date is updated annually on the village web page: www.jakubov.sk.
